ppp-hdclone not working on Strectch

When I tried to use ppp-hdclone on Strectch, I got the error message
ERROR: Error opening /dev/mmcblk0: Permission denied.

I have to flash back the Jessie, ppp-hdclone worked perfectly.

I have the same problem. If I use sudo I get no choices for source or destination. If I dont use sudo then I get Error opening /dev/mmcblk0: Permission denied

I have the same problem as the two people above have described. I was able to find a workaround:

1. Clone the sd card to the ssd drive using dd:
   sudo dd bs=4M if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/dev/sda conv=fsync

2. Run ppb-boot:
   sudo ppp-boot

After you've done the above you might want to install and run gparted to resize the partition on your ssd to take use of the full drive.

In fact the ppp-hdclone called the piclone(https://github.com/raspberrypi-ui/piclone) to do the clone task. This project changes all the time. Some of the released version need sudo and the other do not need sudo.
If you are facing with this issue you can do the clone manually. See here https://github.com/pi-desktop/deb-make/tree/master/pidesktop-base/usr/share/PiDesktop/script , you can run picone you self and then modify the comdline.txt yourself.
