Request/idea - Shift+Backspace combo as "Del" key

Hello!

First of all, many thanks for Pastiera, I was really considering return of my Titan 2 until I installed this miracle of keyboard app.

I have little idea/request - Shift and Backspace keys combo working as Del key. It's helpful gimmick while operating in text editors - sometimes you don't have patience to precisely aim your cursor for that one little letter making a typo, so you place it somewhere between characters and delete few more letters. Being able to remove letters that are in front of the cursor is small but powerful tool. I'd like to see it as toggleable feature in upcoming updates.

I was just about to post something almost identical to Janek! I too am a Titan 2 user - while the old Blackberry keyboard software was a fair "workaround" alternative to the not really adequate software provided by Unihertz, Pastiera is absolutely superb and makes the PKB experience all in all pretty much as good as anything Blackberry did!

So I want to give my sincere congratulations to all involved in the project.

But I was also going to post the same request as Janek has, for a "forward delete" function - so I'm delighte to hear that this has been implemented.

However, could you possibly clarify something for me, please? - Does the feature appear in version 0.84 or only in 0.85. I am currently running 0.84, though will shortly upgrade to 0.85. If it is in 0.84, I have failed to find the feature - how can I activate it? If it was only introduced with 0.85, is the feature automatically active, and if not, where would I find the setting to activate it?

What I meant with debug build was "nightly" (this was in the early stage of me building the pipeline for a second, more fast iterating release channel)

The feature is there in the new 0.85 stable

If you are unsure about the upgrade: just backup your current 0.84 configuration and then upgrade. If anything breaks you can uninstall completely and reinstall the 0.84 version again and reimport the settings from the .zip

The feature is off by default.
So if you are looking for the toggle: Settings -> Smart Features -> scroll to the bottom there is a whole section around the options for delete / backspace behaviour. alt + backspace is also an option for delete as well as backspace becoming automatically backspace when being at the start of the line.

Also the Update ships maaany other features as well, it's really a step up from the 0.84 version.
