# Oxpull
> Oxpull publishes django-ox, a free, open-source (BSD 3-Clause) worker for Django's Tasks framework. The task queue lives in your existing PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQLite database, so there is no broker to run. Current release: django-ox 1.9.1 (2026-10-17).
Execution is at-least-once. A worker holds a lease on each task it runs; if the worker dies, the lease expires and another worker finishes the task. Enqueue inside `transaction.atomic()` and the task commits or rolls back with your data.
With pooled or persistent connections, django-ox ran 1.4 to 1.7 times the throughput of django-tasks-db 0.13.0 in our benchmark (PostgreSQL 16, no-op tasks, medians of five runs).
