Operating system
iOS 26.5.2 (iPhone)
Browser
Safari
Web Clipper version
Latest App Store version
Obsidian version
Not applicable — using Save file only, not Add to Obsidian
Describe the bug
When using Save file in Obsidian Web Clipper on Safari for iOS, the extension successfully generates the Markdown file and displays the dialog offering View or Download. However, tapping either option does nothing. No preview opens, no error is shown, and no .md file is created in the Downloads folder.
I use Web Clipper only to save Markdown files; I do not use Add to Obsidian.
The problem began immediately after updating the iPhone to iOS 26.5.2. I have disabled and re-enabled the extension, completely uninstalled it, restarted the iPhone, reinstalled the latest App Store version, re-enabled its permissions, and checked Files > Downloads. The folder remains empty after trying both actions.
Comparison test: the same Web Clipper version still works correctly on an iPad that has not been updated to iPadOS 26.5.2.
Expected behavior
Tapping View should open a preview of the generated Markdown file. Tapping Download should save the .md file to the Downloads folder in Files.
URLs where the bug occurs
The problem occurs on multiple web pages; no URL-specific trigger identified.
To reproduce
- Open any web page in Safari on an iPhone running iOS 26.5.2.
- Open Obsidian Web Clipper.
- Choose Save file / download the Markdown file.
- When the dialog offering View or Download appears, tap either option.
- Nothing happens: no preview, error, or file in Downloads.
