Add a .editorconfig to the solution

Not sure if this should be an issue or a discussion. But having an .editorconfig would really be nice. My default settings are quite different.

This seems pretty straightforward, i would have taken this as an issue, but it's fine here. i'm just going to reverse engineer an editor config from the source in the tree so we don't hit any issues.

#309 waiting for CI, open to feedback if you think this should be less/more prescriptive, i just had AI reverse engineer and make suggestions. introduced no new build warnings.
