How are points calculated in Beatify?

Answer

Beatify has two game modes (the host picks one in the setup wizard). Scoring depends on which mode you're playing.

Year Guessing (Core)

• Exact year = maximum points 🎯
• Close guess = points decrease the further you are off
• Speed bonus = faster guesses earn more (tiered: 5/3/1)

Title & Artist Mode 🎵 (v4.0.0)

Instead of the year, you type your answer in free text:

• Song title = +10 points
• Artist = +5 points
• Each is scored on its own, and near-misses earn partial credit — small typos and close spellings are forgiven, with the tolerance scaling to the title's length
• Genuinely close guesses go to Crowd Court: a live 30-second 👍/👎 room vote (shown on the TV) decides whether they count. Plainly-wrong answers are marked Wrong and score zero.

Artist Challenge 🎤

When enabled, after guessing the year you can guess the artist:

• Correct artist = +5 bonus points
• One guess per round — no spamming!
• Speed matters — faster correct guesses rank higher

Betting 🎲

• Before each round, you can bet points on your confidence
• Win = bet amount added to score
• Lose = bet amount subtracted

Streaks 🔥

• Getting consecutive correct answers builds a streak
• 🔥 3+ streak, 🔥🔥 5+ streak, 🔥🔥🔥 7+ streak

When all players have guessed, the round ends early — no waiting for the timer!
