PXL flash wear and how to transfer phone photos/videos -> SSD

Looks like a cool project.
However I don't get three things yet.

1. Does the latest implementation still wear the Pixel's flash? Or does it "only" reduce it by 50%?
2. How do I easily transfer the photos/videos from my phones (pixels and androids, and one iphone) to the SSD? Is there an app which is recommended to do so?
3. What does this setup show exactly?
   The big grey box is an USB hub, with RJ45 and a white connector at the bottom. The RJ45 provides the network access to the SSD drive? The SSD drive connected with the white connector?
   The Dockcase Photography Edition on top is just an extra?

For 1, see #30

For 2, use it like any other USB drive, or pretend it is internal storage and use syncthing.

For 3, i have chosen to use a USB SSD enclosure. all the other equipment is not needed.
