Toggle on a per workspace basis?

Is it possible to toggle this on a per workspace basis similar to how you can in dwm or xmonad? I'm interested in using this for one or two workspaces but I would like to use a different layout for other workspaces.

It's not possible right now, but it shouldn't be difficult to implement. Unfortunately I don't have the time to add this feature, but a PR is welcome!
