login via QR code results in 500 error

When sharing a login via QR code after clicking "Continue" the web server responds with a 500 error code.

Yeah QR login has some wierd inconsistencies. I should probably disable it for now. You should be able to fix this temporarily by logging out on one or both devices and trying again, but obviously that's annoying.

I'm working on replacing it with something that should be much more reliable, but that's still a ways out.
