The ability to play multiplayer (Direct IP) on various source ports along with easier setting up of multiplayer launchers would help get players started playing multiplayer without the extra steps.
NukemNet has been the go-to service for playing NotBlood, NetDuke32 (might need support for that for BuildLauncher), and VoidSW (even the DOS versions) while Classic Gaming Arena is used for strictly the DOS versions.
For NukemNet, it has a Settings.json (inside the user directory) for setting the game paths so I imagine it being a bit easy to implement compared to CGA.
