Protocol references and trademarks

This product implements Remote NDIS (RNDIS), a protocol originally specified by
Microsoft Corporation. "RNDIS" is used here descriptively, to name the protocol
implemented. This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by
Microsoft, Google, Apple, or any device manufacturer. Android is a trademark of
Google LLC; macOS is a trademark of Apple Inc.

The Linux kernel drivers rndis_host.c, cdc_ether.c, u_ether.c and f_rndis.c
(GPL-2.0) were consulted as a reference for protocol behaviour -- message
layouts, constants, and documented device quirks. No code from those files is
included in this project. Protocol facts of that kind are interface
information, not copyrightable expression.

If kernel code is ever copied into this tree, the GPL applies to the result and
this notice must change accordingly. Contributors: please do not paste kernel
source here. Describe the behaviour and implement it independently, as the
existing code does.
