Python Linting & Formatting

I'm trying to browse the repository and read the code as an outside contributor, and one of things that making it unnecessarily hard is the lack of proper and consistent formatting. Even a simple ruff format could help a lot.

I can send a simple config with CI workflow but wanted to check with the maintainers first.

good call on this — wrote up CONTRIBUTING.md which covers the stuff you flagged: min TD build (now auto-synced from the build on every save), bundled python, zero deps, no pip surface since it ships as a .tox.

on tooling: ruff check repo-wide works (lint doesn't rewrite bytes). ruff format only in the hand-edited zones (platform/, docs/, .github/, root) — touchdesigner rewrites everything else on save and will fight the formatter forever. happy to take your config PR scoped like that 🙏
