Please add a simple screensaver option to dim the screen only

Bigger TVs use a lot of energy. Could you include a screensaver mode which will kick in from anywhere, including paused playback of a show, and dim the screen by a user configurable amount up to perhaps 95% (5% brightness max) after a configurable period of time?

Yes, I'd appreciate this too.

I was expecting to be a big fan of the new screensaver functionality but now that the novelty of the backdrops has worn off I now realise what I value most is simply being kind to the screen when it's not being actively watched. This is particularly the case given that the rest of my family don't think twice about pausing a movie for excessively long periods of time. 😆 A dimmed screen option would be ideal.

Wow. So you ARE aware of this post and capable of responding. Multiple software releases, precisely zero responses on this thread which requests an actually useful feature - POLITELY, I might add - for months, and it takes a meme to get any sort of reply at all.

Well, while I've got your attention, here's a few tips related to user retention, especially if you expect anyone at all to "buy you a coffee" via the link on the main release page.

1. Reconsider prioritizing useless features in releases such as "new red and brown theme" over ones like this that are practical and can actually save your users money and potential screen burn-in.

2. Respond to feature requests in a timely manner - even if it's a no, so users won't stick around waiting for a useful feature that literally never surfaces because the developer either doesn't give a toss or else isn't capable of developing it - if someone's interest is "well-known" then it might be time to actually acknowledge them.

3. Instead of bitch responses like "this makes me less motivated", how about turning that around and letting people know what DOES motivate you to consider exploring feature requests? And let them know - again, in a timely manner - ON each and every feature request, instead of ignoring them and wasting time on "minor UI changes". They're minor. Almost valueless. This isn't.

Reading responses like yours makes me less motivated to even consider enxploring the continued use of your app.

@dhry After your shameful, entitled post and the dev graciously adding your feature for an upcoming release in #1834, the very least you can do is apologize to him and buy him a coffee. Aside from how disgusting your post is, I think you've pretty much ruined any possibility of your feature request now being implemented in short order.

For all our benefit I suggest you continue through with your threat to use another app (don't forget to ask for your money back), close this request and someone else can submit a new one in due course that isn't tainted with your disrespectful selfish diatribe.
