OS: Windows 10
I’ve been using compressO for a long time and really like it. The batch processing feature is already very useful, but I have a suggestion to make it even more powerful for photos and videos.
Problem Description
Currently, when I want to reduce the resolution of multiple videos or images, I have to set the dimensions for each file individually before starting the compression.
For example, I might have videos of different resolutions (some even 8K), and I want to scale all of them down to 2K while preserving the aspect ratio – the software can do this for one video, but there is no way to apply the same dimension preset to all files in batch with a single click.
The same applies to images. I would like to be able to choose a standard format (like YouTube quality presets: 480p, 720p, 1080p, etc.) and have every selected file resized to that target resolution – without having to open and configure each file one by one.
Suggested Improvement
Add a batch dimension preset feature to the batch processing interface.
- Provide a dropdown menu with common video/image resolutions (e.g., 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, 8K, or custom width/height).
- When the user selects a preset, all files in the current batch job are automatically resized to that target resolution (while keeping their original aspect ratio, with options like crop or letterbox if needed).
- This should work for both photos and videos in the same workflow.
