👋 Welcome to HarborRAG Discussions

HarborRAG is a modular, provider-agnostic RAG framework for engineering knowledge. It ingests
from local files, GitHub, Confluence, Jira, and SharePoint, and guarantees that an answer can
only cite the document version that is actually current.

This is the place to talk with the maintainers and other people running HarborRAG. Use it to:

• Ask questions about setup, configuration, connectors, parsers, or deployment topologies.
• Share ideas for new connectors, parser backends, retrieval lanes, or CLI/SDK improvements.
• Show what you built - an MCP integration, a custom parser, a deployment recipe, a benchmark.
• Help others who are hitting the same walls you already climbed.

Before you post

• Check the docs, especially
  Troubleshooting and the
  Configuration guides.
• Search existing discussions and issues; your question may already have an answer.
• For questions, include your HarborRAG version, how you installed it (pip vs. checkout),
  which connectors and parsers are involved, and the relevant log output in a code block.
  Strip credentials and tenant-specific URLs first.

Contributing

Want to go beyond discussing? CONTRIBUTING.md covers the
uv workspace setup, package layout, and the test suite. Ideas that get traction here are
the best candidates for a PR.

Introduce yourself

Comment below with what you're working on and how you're using (or planning to use) HarborRAG.
Knowing which sources, parsers, and deployment shapes people actually run helps us decide
what to prioritise.

Be kind, assume good intent, and keep it constructive. We're building this together 💪

Three things to confirm on your side:

• Category names. The table assumes the GitHub defaults: General, Ideas, Q&A, Show and tell. Rename them in the table if you configured different categories.
• Relative links. The ../../blob/main/... paths work from a Discussions page on GitHub. If you prefer, swap them for absolute https://github.com/cbtw-apac/HarborRAG/... URLs.
• Version line. The README notes 2.0.0a1 as the current public release and that multi-tenant production topology is not supplied yet. If you want to set expectations up front, add a one-line note under the intro pointing to the "Where HarborRAG is production-ready" section of the README.

The maintainer-tips comment block from the original template is worth keeping in mind but not in the post: link the issue templates to Discussions in the template chooser, and bulk-convert any existing issues labelled "question" to Q&A discussions.
