I had an idea to allow overriding the default search engine despite issue #41: Instead of matching the URL strings of all safari default search engines, have the user set the Safari default search to an engine they never use (e.g. yahoo). Then detect that engine or have a setting in SKS to match that engine and only match URLs from that search engine.
I had this idea and then saw that xSearch does exactly this in its "recommended" mode for overriding the default search engine, so I feel confident that this is the best workaround right now.
