Touchpad and scrolling layout

Hello. I just installed rift and started playing with it, but I have encountered few issues, mainly with the gestures are buggy.
I have a MacBook Air M2

Before investigating it further and opening an issue, I'd like to know if anyone who has been using the same layout has encountered such problems.

The relevant part of the configuration is this

I'll leave a video because it's much easier than explaining with words

1. System Gestures off; scrolling gestures only works if touchpad is pressed but they are extremely buggy
2. System Gestures enabled, lots to uncover: system gestures and scrolling gestures conflicts, but system "prevail"; hot reload does not work (after changing to 3 fingers, still only "works" with 4); after restarting rift, 3 fingers works but still buggy

1. i cant reproduce this, are youu sure you can only do it whilst the trackpad is pressed? i can (and im pretty sure many others can) scroll through the layout strip without issues

2. there is no reason to support system gestures as there is no way to detect that they are on nor work with them.

If I scroll fast (and I mean really really fast) I can make the window move a bit (like 1cm per scroll) without pressing the touchpad. If I press the touchpad, the window moves as shown in the video.

I tried rebooting into safe mode and the behavior is the same (though there are no more artifacts when press-scrolling, the scrolling is still janky)

i would try adjusting the distance_pct. i really have no idea why you are experiencing the behavior you are and it is also hard to imagine why pressing the touchpad would make any difference..

This does seem to have an effect. If I set to 0.01 and I scroll really fast the window does move a few steps, but it moves only a little.

By the way, I tried other scrolling wm, like paneru and omniwm, none seems to work with the trackpad at all, at least this implementation react to the trackpad. I don't know if something is broken on my part, but I doubt it since I can reproduce the same behavior in safe mode.

Right now I'm on tahoe 26.3.1, when possible I'll update to 26.4 and see if something changes.

what kind of track pad are you using? the fact that all wms can't deal with it (and safe mode doesn't really have any bearing) makes me think its an issue on your side

I'm using a MacBook Air M2, not an external one.
