#1103 (merged 2026-08-15) added a dedicated Initialize Ask Alice setup path when no Chat workspace exists (ChatSetupPage / HarnessSetupPage). If the original pain was “blank / broken UX with zero Chat desks,” that path may already help on latest dev.

Possible residual: a stale deep-link targetWsId that points at a deleted workspace can still be submitted and surface as a generic workspace_not_found / composer error, while the picker shows another desk.

Ask: On current dev (or latest beta), which case still looks bad?

1. Fresh install / no Chat workspace at all → setup page?
2. Deleted/stale targetWsId deep link → generic error?

A short screenshot + OpenAlice version would let us close or file a focused follow-up.
