Hi @Hsinyugithub , a question about wild-type controls on metagenotype (pathogen–host interaction) annotations.
I have the rule that WT controls are made for metagenotype annotations — one control per phenotype — and linked from the mutant annotation via the compared to control extension (PHI-base/curation #78, #79). Single-species pathogen phenotypes get no WT control, which is clear. What I am unsure about is whether the WT control metagenotype is itself annotated.

The PHI-Canto framework description (Cuzick 2023) lists "Wild-type control phenotypes — new compared to control AE + WT metagenotypes", which reads to me as the WT metagenotype being annotated in its own right.
So my question is: when a pathogen mutant metagenotype is annotated with an interaction phenotype (e.g. PHIPO:0000365 decreased pathogen growth within host), does the WT control metagenotype also get its own phenotype annotation?
And if it does — is that the same measured term at wild-type level, or a separate "normal"/unaffected term? Or does the WT metagenotype exist only so that it can be selected as the compared to control value?
