So Jake Cook, Director of Operations at OISI, came to me with a request/idea today. He wants to install a TV in the main waiting room to display slideshows/information about the company. In conjunction with slideshows, he wants to incorporate real-time patient routing/wait time information from their EHR, while keeping it HIPAA compliant and removing all PHI.
In thinking of this, my initial thought was that there could be a script written that could pull info from the "inbox" of the EHR on a scheduled rotation. That information could then be automatically dumped into the slideshow, or some other viewing platform to be automatically displayed on the TV. If we could develop a program along these lines, it may be something we could then market to other offices as well.
