Proposal
To create an integration with Autotask so that work contacts are properly represented on mobile devices. Salesforce has a similar unified messaging capability for incoming phone calls to support lines. I wouldn't say that it needs to be that fancy but I do believe this to be beneficial to know that is out there.
I think the benefits are obvious, it would reduce duplication throughout the organization. There is a possibility that it could be written purely as a sync style manager and work in concert with system contact list managers.
Project Challenges
This is a difficult project because it requires many moving parts
- An Autotask API Key
- A central application server hosted at a place like AppEngine, Heroku or Openshift as a rendevous point for all mobile devices
- Application must integrate with an identity and access management solution like Google Apps for Business, having an active account will allow users access to the contact list. To remove access, the account must be disabled.
