Cannot add events to the calendar flyout

Hi, I discovered this app thanks to your reddit post yesterday.

I don't know whether this is intended or not but there is no way to add events to the calendar flyout, which shows the same as the one included in Windows 11 that opens when clicking the date in the taskbar.

What I thought is that this app would keep its events separate from Windows, so for instance it would be possible to add single events/import ics files which cannot be done in the official Calendar app and that requires using an outlook/google account and adding the necessary events there. Is this implemented/planned?

I plan to add events with outlook/gmail (and apple?) support, The idea with .ics files is good so the app may also allow importing .ics and having a local .ics file too for tracking events

Honestly, what I really want is the old Windows calendar/flyout integration back. The one that didn't need an Outlook login or a hook to my Microsoft account - just a basic calendar program with the ability to set appointments and reminders, and NOT have to send it to the cloud or 'automatic sync' anywhere I don't want it to go.

Two clicks, one to open the flyout and the second on the date, it opens up and shows anything scheduled on that day and the days around it. It sat on the taskbar behind the clock, so doesn't get hidden behind my browser window or clutter my desktop. No muss, no fuss, no account verification or extra passwords or internet connection required. It was so nice, of course Microsoft couldn't keep it like that.

Since that's not an option anymore - because M$ enshittified its calendar beyond salvaging - Thunderbird or any other program that stores data locally and has optional account logins would be keen. Outlook, Gmail, Apple, all have their place if you're tying yourself to their ecosystem and all, which is nice but I don't wanna if I don't have to. I just want my little date and time flyout to be useful for appointment reminders again, like it used to be.
