Thank you for your interest in contributing to Doop ("the Project"), maintained by Kevin Goedecke ("the Maintainer").
By signing this Contributor License Agreement (CLA) — via the automated check on your pull request — you accept the following terms for your present and future Contributions submitted to the Project. Except for the licenses granted here, you retain all right, title and interest in your Contributions.
"Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including any modifications or additions to existing work, that you intentionally submit to the Project for inclusion in it.
"You" means the individual (or the legal entity you are authorized to represent) signing this agreement.
You grant the Maintainer and recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense and distribute your Contributions and derivative works under any license terms — including open-source licenses and commercial/proprietary licenses.
You grant the Maintainer and recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated below) patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer your Contribution, where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution alone or in combination with the Project. If any entity institutes patent litigation alleging that the Project or a Contribution constitutes patent infringement, any patent licenses granted to that entity under this agreement terminate.
You represent that:
- you are legally entitled to grant the above licenses;
- each Contribution is your original creation, or you have identified any third-party material and its license in the Contribution;
- if your employer has rights to intellectual property you create, you have permission to make the Contribution on its behalf, or your employer has waived such rights.
You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions. Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, your Contributions are provided "AS IS", without warranties or conditions of any kind.
You agree to notify the Maintainer if any of the above representations become inaccurate.
Why a CLA? The Project is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and always will be for the code already released. The CLA additionally lets the Maintainer offer the software under other terms (for example a commercial license) and keep the Project sustainable — without having to track down every past contributor for permission. You keep the copyright to your work.
