Locally stored bookcovers

Currently Chaptarr takes up a significant amount of space storing local copies of book covers.

I was wondering if there would be a sensible way around this… I'm assuming this is related to writing metadata? As someone who personally has little available space, and has covers both embedded in the epub's and changes metadata post-chaptarr. This seems like a redundant feature, and that even with a relatively small (300-500) book library it is already a significant burden.
